Zipasite is a website downloader that turns public pages into an offline copy. Save reading for a journey, keep reference material close, or capture your own site before a change. This online website copier keeps pages, images and styles together in one ZIP, with download notes to help you check the result.

How to download a website

How it works

  1. Choose your website

    Paste a public address and choose your page limit. Zipasite follows links and sitemaps on that domain. Include linked documents for PDFs and brochures.

  2. Zip your site

    Keep the tab open as pages and files arrive. Zipasite updates saved links for local browsing. Check the download notes when your ZIP is ready.

  3. Unzip and explore

    Extract the whole ZIP and open index.html. Keep the pages and assets folder together so images, styles and local links stay connected.

Start small. Try a modest page limit and open a few key pages. Images and documents also contribute to ZIP size. A specific page address still starts a domain-wide search. Each new download creates a fresh archive.

What travels with your copy

Zipasite saves public HTML pages, referenced images, stylesheets, fonts and scripts. Your choice of linked documents adds files such as PDFs. Assets may come from the site’s image or font providers.

Saved pages sit together beside index.html, with supporting files in an assets folder. Links between saved pages work locally. Links to other pages and services open the live web.

Open the extracted folder to read saved text, view images and move between included pages. Try the pages you need with your device offline before a journey.

Keep the original ZIP alongside the extracted copy. Add a date to the file name to compare versions. Each archive is a snapshot of the site on the day you downloaded it. Follow our opening checklist to check your copy.

What stays with the live site

Forms, search, checkout and sign-in work on the original site. Embedded services and content loaded by JavaScript may stay there too.

Zipasite saves public files. The database, admin area and server code stay on the original server. For a full restore, keep a separate backup of your database, uploads, settings and server files. See website archive vs backup.

From website to ZIP

Files pass through the Zipasite server, and your browser builds the ZIP. Supported browsers write directly to your chosen location; others prepare the download in memory. Allow space for both the ZIP and its extracted folder.

Use Zipasite for content you own or have permission to copy. Keep the source’s permissions in mind when sharing your offline copy.

Will it download every page?

Zipasite saves the pages it reaches through links and sitemaps, up to your page limit. Pages behind logins or user actions stay on the live site. Check the download notes for the pages that matter to you.

Can I download several websites at once?

Zipasite works with one website address at a time. Create a separate archive for each site, then check the result before starting another.

Why does a cookie banner still appear?

Zipasite keeps recognised Google Tag Manager loaders on index.html and removes them from other pages. The homepage may show a banner when connected. Banners from other scripts may remain, and saved scripts may contact online services.

What should I do if files are missing?

Check the download notes and manifest.json for saved files and items to review. Retry temporary errors, or raise the page limit for a wider copy. Files restricted by robots.txt or access rules stay with their source.

Can I use Zipasite as a website backup?

It gives you a reference copy of public pages. For a full restore, keep a separate backup of your database, uploads, settings and server files.

How do I handle a large download?

Start with a smaller page limit and select linked documents when you need them. Keep the tab open and follow the size guidance. A trial archive helps you check the result before saving a larger collection.
